Losing Control is a large-scale sculptural installation constructed from dismantled scaffolding, metal components, and safety netting recovered from the artist’s former studio. Materials originally associated with temporary construction are reorganized into a monumental structure whose balance appears both deliberate and precarious.

Removed from their functional context, the scaffolding elements are no longer used to support architecture. Instead, they become the architecture of the work itself. Repeated metal poles, joints, bindings, and suspended green netting generate a complex vertical rhythm, while the apparent instability of the structure introduces a tension between order and disorder, construction and collapse, control and release.

Presented in the Jardin des Plantes during FIAC Outdoor Project – Hors les Murs, the work establishes a strong visual dialogue with its surroundings. The rough industrial surfaces of the metal framework contrast with the cultivated landscape, historic buildings, and vegetation of the garden, allowing the sculpture to shift between architectural structure, temporary monument, and abstract spatial drawing.

Through the reuse and reconfiguration of existing materials, Losing Control explores transformation as both a physical and perceptual process. Familiar construction elements are detached from their original purpose and reorganized into an open, unstable form, allowing material, memory, scale, and environment to continually redefine one another.
